Opry North’s Accomplishments

   To summarize what we have accomplished in our first year I will break it down into the following two categories; actual accomplishments and honourary mentions.  Actual accomplishments are those things that we have arranged for either our visitors or the artists to their benefit.  Honourary mentions are those things that have happened to/for those we’ve dealt with over the past year, which we may or may not have given a hand to, either directly or indirectly (or we just like them and want to share their good news with you).

ACTUAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS

   We have arranged for country music artists to receive airplay over 78 US radio stations through our affiliation with Shane Wilder, and the TransAmerican Broadcasting Corporation.

   We have arranged for country music artists to receive airplay in Australia through an affiliation with Trudy Burke, a country DJ from the station 88.9 WYN FM.

   We have secured a special offer for artists and fans from Country Music News, Canada’s premier country music publication, an offer only available through www.oprynorth.com

   We have brought many of our profile artists to the attention of music industry professionals, resulting in contacts from interested parties and, in one case, resulting in that artist being signed to a label.

   We have been able to bring our visitor rate up to increasing levels, resulting in our breaking the 200,000 visitors mark in our first year.

   Over the year we have compiled  one of the largest artist links found on a promotional site like Opry North world wide.  We have 277 artist/performer links, 89 of which are Canadian.  The rest are compiled of artists from all over the world.

   We have arranged to have Opry North listed on over 200 country music sites or country music artist’s sites worldwide.

   In the 52 weeks of our first year we have covered 30 concerts or festivals featuring country music artists, providing a comprehensive report (most with photos) for each one.

HONOURARY MENTIONS

   One of our profiled artists had the honour of having her independent CD nominated for a Grammy for “Best Country Album”, the first independent artist to receive such a nomination.

   Another of our profiled artists (who is an amazing songwriter) has had one of her songs chosen for inclusion on the new Ricky Martin album.  This lady has also just received her second Emmy, for writing a song used on a soap opera.

   We’ve been able to help some new talent gain showcase spots that will help their exposure and may result in some exciting opportunities.

   It has been our pleasure to point an extremely promising artist into the direction of a bursary, which they were subsequently approved for, to help with the cost of a future recording.
