At present Canadian Country Singer Robyn Pauhl is involved in enough activities to make the head swim.

With a voice that has enough power and range to make it worth remarking on ,Robyn is caught up in the hectic world of being both a high school student , and being a much-booked country singer . She lives with her mother and her brother in Hamilton , an hours drive from Toronto.

Just in her teens , Robyn already bears some impressive credentials . She won The 1997 Ontario Country Music Association's Rising Star Award ,She has opened shows for Loretta Lynn , George Jones , Michelle Wright , Prairie Oyster , and Jason McCoy.

Like most teens in Canada , Robyn is drawn to the contemporary music of Sheryl Crow , Aerosmith and Our Lady Peace . She also plays bass in a local jazz band . However , it is country music which she is most enthusiastic about .

When she was ten , Robyn's grandmother introduced her to Patsy Cline's "Walkin'After Midnight " , recorded over forty years ago . For months afterwards , Robyn could not think of anything else . Robyn's grandparents also later encouraged her to show off her considerable vocal talents at local karaoke shows . Soon afterwards , Robyn entered and won a series of Ontario country talent contests .

By thirteen , with the support of her mother and father , Robyn had decided on a music career . " Performing is such a thrill ", she says ."Having people liking what you do feels great . I have never tried to sound like anybody . I do admire artists like Patsy Cline and Trisha Yearwood , they have passion in their singing , and they have recorded quality songs ".
